Sports Premium Funding

Sports Premium Funding

Since 2013 the government has provided additional funding to schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE.

We are held to account for how we spend the sports premium funding. We prioritise our children’s health and fitness and we recognise the vital role that sports and outdoor learning play in realising this goal. We want our children to make healthy choices, to enjoy physical activity and to appreciate its benefits.

Since 1994, swimming and water safety has been a statutory element of the national curriculum for physical education in England.

This means that every 11-year old child should leave primary school with the skills to keep themselves safe while enjoying swimming with friends and family.  We partner with Dorking Leisure Centre and every child swims once a week for one term each year.  We are also delighted to work in partnership with Premier Sports who deliver specialist P.E lessons to all our children once a week and Susy Puckett from Leatherhead Theatre teaches Dance to all pupils once a week.
